True Fear

Taiwanese are scared of ghosts. Many sleep with nightlights. Many won't go for walks at night. And almost nobody wants to explore abandoned places with me. Even this previous month was "ghost month" where Taiwanese can't go to the beach because the ghosts will pull them under the water and drown them.

People will often say I'm "brave" which is just absurd, cause it's like saying I'm brave to make fun of The Joker. He's not real, so it's nothing brave about it.

But that's not to say I don't have fear. In fact the building in today's picture is the place I fear most. It's an animal hospital that I sometimes pass by on the bus. Every time I go by, I hope that I never have some emergency where I have to bring my dog here. Which given her proclivity for eating street food and climbing out windows, has a high risk of happening.
