After an appointment the other day, I was walking into a supermarket with my backpack on and the guard stopped me and asked me to put m bag in a locker. Usually I would just say "no thank you racist" and just walk in and see if he has the courage to try and stop me. However at this day I was just too hungry and decided it would just be a lost sale for them.
Now in Taiwan shopping bags cost money, so everybody brings a variety of bags with them into the store. So it was just this one guy decided that he was a racist. And I just laughed at him and went elsewhere for my food.
While walking my dog that night, this one stranger had just bought some snacks for her dog and was kind of enough to stop me and offer me one to give to my dog. It was very sweet of her, and restored my faith in Taiwanese for another day.
