@johnfalconer When you have a brick house, they leave some holes between the bricks about half a meter above the ground level. This is for ventilation purposes, but bees like to get in and build a nest between the outer and inner walls. This device maintains the ventilation, but blocks the bees. It is spring loaded and about 5 cm high.
