Order of Good Cheer

This is the dining hall in a reconstruction of Champlain's 17th century settlement in Port Royal, Nova Scotia. In order to improve morale during the winter months, Champlain formed the Order of Good Cheer where the gentlemen would take turns trying to outdo each other preparing a feast for the settlers.
What an excellent tradition!
