My get-pushed partner challenged me to try the Brenizer technique where many photos are combined with a wide aperture to create a panorama with a shallow DOF.

@kali66 I still haven't achieved the effect that I had in mind. I think I need to get closer to my subject. Here, the main effect is that the post looks warped from the stitching.
hmmm yes i see what you mean. The photos i have seen had way blurrier backgrounds and yes, probably a closer subject would work better , i think mostly the main subject is caught in only one or two of the shots within the panorama so that it doesnt get distorted. I know he developed this technique to make dreamy wedding portraits so you need to think of it as taking a portrait of something and the background wide .
