Spine-Tailed Chowchilla

Came across this little fellow scrabbling around on the forest floor during our visit to Springbrook with Denise and Rachel last Friday.

I know this is not the best shot in the world but I had never seen nor heard of this bird before and with a name like Chowchilla, I just had to post it.

He is also known as the Australian Logrunner which is also a pretty cool name

This is a new one for me. Thanks for sharing. Had me reaching for the bird book. I see they don't extend much further north than the Springbrook area.

@ubobohobo I had never heard of it before either Margaret. My bird bible says that it extends as far north as the Bunyas and south to central coastal NSW
