Dusk on Semiahmoo Bay

One thing I haven't worked out yet on the new 80D is how to stop the flash from firing on a couple of the settings. Its very annoying but in this case it actually worked out quite well by illuminating the snow in the foreground.
If I can't work it out soon. I'll have to read the manual. Heaven forbid

Well, your flash certainly did you a favor on this one, Terry. This is gorgeous. Love the beautiful colors. Check your mode dial. The mode underneath the automatic mode will turn off your flash. Just twist the dial.

@tahoemb That just shoots in Auto mode with the flash off. But the flash is firing in other modes eg P mode which it never did on the old 650D

Lovely image full of interesting patterns and colour Terry, I think its a man thing trying to work around a problem, if all else fails read the instruction or better still go on line someone out there knows the answer, best of luck:)

Glorious.

That did work out nicely. Can't you defeat the flash using the menu settings? Do you have a ten-year old around to check with?
