Since then he has been coming in regularly and getting some sun flower seeds as a snack for his trouble.
We are now pretty sure that it is the same one who was very friendly and hung around constantly before we went away in December. Nanna has given his wing a splash of nail polish so we can recognise him easily. :-)
@gigiflower I have always bragged that they have been coming into our yard for years and they have not caused the slightest skerrick of damage. However, just today, this little bugger got bored waiting for me to come to the window so decided to have a small nibble of the inside window sill. So there will be no more treats at the window and he will have to mix with the plebs in the back yard.
But no, he is very quiet. No doubt if we had not noticed him and he did decide to squawk, we would end up with our heads through the ceiling.
Amazing to have him coming back! What fun. We had a hummingbird that liked to fly in and out of the water hose when we were watering flowers, or sit on our deck and enjoy the mist from the watering. So strange that we knew it had to be the same bird. I think their life span is about three years too...he didn't return after those three summers.
You get the most AMAZING pictures of WILD BIRDS. I can take similar parrot pictures but because, sadly, mine are "prisoners", trapped in a house, some unable to ever fly because of human meanness. Yours are so much more beautiful because they are birds that live where they're suppose to; in freedom. So glad you share these pictures with us.
