We saw this very small flock of budgerigars on the road from Normanton to Cloncurry and I took a shot of it just for practice. As it turned out, it was just as well I did as it was the only one we saw on the whole trip.
What a bummer.
One of the things we were looking forward to seeing was the very large flocks that can be found in western Queensland. See https://365project.org/terryliv/directors-cut-2/2017-08-02
Don't bother to comment. Just telling a story/having a whinge.
Good storytelling across the two images.
Re Chicago -- we'll be in town at some point for sure -- probably toward the end of your visit (maybe the weekend of the 20th Oct). You will love Niagara -- we took the boat on the Canadian side which was great fun, and stayed at Niagara-on-the-Lake. If you aren't staying there, it's worth a visit -- cute town and good restaurants, and lovely lakeside area. In the middle of the Canadian wine country where you can rent bikes and ride to various vineyards. Autumn should be beautiful there. Sadly, that weekend is also Open House Chicago when about 200 buildings open up to the public -- it's amazing four tourism, photography, etc. Early in your visit, I strongly recommend a trip to the city to do the river tour with the Chicago Architectural Foundation. Also, if you are there on a Thursday around noon when CAF does their tour of the Rookery, it's fascinating - one of my favorites in the city. Your kids will also have plenty of ideas too, I'm sure! See you this fall!
