Mt Isa at Dusk

Day 18 - Mt Isa, Gulf Country, NWQ

The Mt Isa mine site is silhouetted against the late afternoon sky. Mt Isa is exempted from all the nice things I said previously about outback towns.

For O/S 365ers, Mt Isa came into existence following the discovery of vast deposits of lead, silver, copper and zinc in the area in 1923. Mount Isa Mines went on to become one of the most productive single mines in world history.

It looks great as a silhouette against a pretty sky. I'm not rushing to visit there though.
