The Queensland Bottle tree (brachychiton-rupestris) is native to Queensland and while it looks a lot like the Boab (Adansonia Gregorii) that grows in the Kimberley in Western Australia, they are unrelated and are from a different genus. There have been many postings by a number of people of Boabs in 365 over the years.
This particular tree is the largest in Roma and has a girth of 9.62mtrs. It was transplanted to this spot by the Roma Council in 1927.
And that was the end of the photos. With the scent of home in our nostrils, the camera didn't come out again until we unpacked the car at home (thank God for that I hear you say).
I hope you have enjoyed your 10,984km journey through Western Queensland, The Outback, The Red Centre and The Top End. It has certainly taken me much longer to get through these postings than I ever imagined.
We love road trips and especially travelling out west and already have itchy feet and wondering where to go next.
