The Trials and Tribulations of a Wannabe Photographer 1

The first time the Osprey flew over us, it caught us totally unawares and I quickly got the camera up, cranked up the zoom and managed 4 shots before it was gone.

There are times when I have a bit of a chuckle at my poor photographic attempts and there are other times I want to throw something, usually the camera. This was one of the latter occasions.

Bill @photographycrazy doesn't seem to have these problems. 😒
You need to lead the bird by a bit. Not that I am always successful

Haha! I took over a 1000 pics and have many “just missed photos”! Just keep shooting!!

I could fill a 365 album with “missed bird” photos…

You got this one in really good focus, just missed part of it. I know the feeling well.

Lucky that you got two thirds so well focused! I have yet to successfully capture any bif.

I could have the missed, blurry bird album. You almost got it all :)

Aah but that's the beauty of digital Terry. It really doesn't matter how many you miss. I go by the theory that if you "spray and pray" often enough, you might get lucky sometimes :)

Love Merrelyn’s description of “spray and pray” and I also had to laugh about your comment about Bill… I think it helps to be in an area where the birds are plentiful and you have time for lots of practice shots.
