G'day Bluey. Have a Good Sleep?

One of our resident Blue Tongue Lizards made its first appearance for the summer a couple of days ago after being inactive over the cooler months. For a number of years now, this guy has had his home in a gap under the swimming pool coping.

Blue Tongues are the largest of the Skink family of lizards and can grow up to 60cm in length.

Ain't he beautiful?
I am not sure I would be so happy to see him being a resident in my home :) Great focus, colors and dof

@radiogirl Yes Kathy. Flat out like a lizard drinking as the saying goes. And the ground was still quite damp from all the rain we have had recently

Love this shot. My son had a blue tongue for a few years, unfortunately he had to sell it when he went off to uni... Such interesting creatures! They are a pest here in NZ as they prey on our little native skinks/geckos.
