A lazy day today resulted in my having to resort to a shot of one of my bromeliads. At least it has been a week since I last posted a brom shot. This one is Vriesea Hieroglyphica, which is regarded as being the one of the flagships of the Vriesea species and is certainly one of my favourites.
The patterns in the leaves (they are called leaves, right?) are so unique. I was shopping today for a prop in a future macro shot when I came across a small selection of broms and got all excited, explaining to my husband that someone on 365 shared photos of his on occasion. Thanks for the new appreciation for these beautiful plants.
@gigiflower@andrewkru@digitalrn@hermann Thank you everyone. With a bit of luck, this plant should get a bit bigger so I may get another photo opportunity later. @lyndemc yes they are called leaves Lynde but a word of warning, it is very easy to get hooked on broms and they can become an obsession - just like genealogy, and 365Project and . . . .
I love the variegation of the leaves, I only have one bromeliad but I do love it's beautiful pink flowers with little blue buds in it, they flower for so long too!
