We were baby sitting Maggie today over at our son's place today so we went over to Sandgate, one of the suburbs that fronts Moreton Bay. There is a lovely paved walk along the foreshore that extends for some 5kms.
The Shorncliffe jetty was built in 1880
@ubobohobo Ha Ha Margaret, you caught me out. The pier is closed for safety reasons and there is a chance it may have to be demolished and rebuilt - or just demolished.
What a lovely place to stroll were it not closed for safety reasons. Viewed large, I can't see what those safety reasons might be - must be something out of sight and under water. You composed a lovely photo, one that hopefully isn't a memento of something that someday no longer exists. That would be a shame.
Thanks SO much for the Minuscule recommendation!!!! I got to giggling so much, other family members came to see what I was watching. I have ever intention of watching lots more of those little productions. Thanks for buzzing by and having a peek at more of my macro shots, the chess King and the Ladybug included. I don't know about being on fire with this project, but there might be a bit of a spark here and there.
Terrific composition. Fences and piers are such marvelous focus points in a photo. Just draw your eye right through the whole scene. Sure hope they don't demolish this beauty.
@mccarth1@tonydebont@frankhymus@landownunder@milaniet@dianeburns@lyndemc Thank you everyone. It's funny how we see things differently. When I put this up I thought it was OK shot of a jetty and nothing else. The response has really surprised me. Just goes to show that I don't know too much about what I am doing!!
