Back into the city today and a pic of the Treasury casino at the southern end of The Queen Street Mall. The Treasury Building was opened in 1886 and was home to a number of Government offices through to the mid 1990s when it was converted into the Brisbane Casino.
@ribbet9 Yes Candace. We never had that many to begin with but then our wonderful, short sighted, "development" oriented administrators ensured we had even less.
That's an impressive looking structure but then government-related buildings are usually designed that way, right? Your city looks so clean and friendly. Nice looking clouds you had there today too. Interesting piece of art on the right.
@ribbet9@thresheg@hermann@digitalrn@milaniet@radiogirl@lyndemc@moxy Thanks for your comments everyone. A funny story. In front of the building you can see an umbrella with a bloke and some steel drums. He was playing them and I went over with the zoom cranked right up and was just about to take the shot when he stopped and started to do something around his kit. I thought that was a bit of bad luck and went off to look at other things and when I came back he was playing again. Same thing happened but this time I noticed, through the view finder, him look up and see me and then immediately stop and turn around. He had a hat in front of him and obviously his motto was "no dollar, no picky". So I took it anyway just to spite him. @moxy . . and make a contribution to the Queensland economy Shelley??
