Birds I Don't Like:
I'm on a roll here so here is the number 4 on my birds I don't like list.
The Currawong looks like a cross between a Crow and an Australian Magpie in every respect - size colourings and habit. We used to only get them around the house in winter but recently they seem to have taken up permanent residence.
They eat anything and everything and I think most of it goes straight through their systems without being digested which results in - well lots of mess.
They do have a pleasing carolling type call though.
Sorry to be different, but I love currawong's. How can you not think they are beautiful, just look at that eye and beak. Fantastic. and they sing so beautifully.
Crimini — that's a penetrating stare this bird's got. And the mass of his beak seems almost out of proportion to the rest of him. But honestly, he's a handsomely marked creature, don't you think? Then again, I happen to be the oddball that really likes crows and ravens...
