Had the bright idea of showcasing another beautiful blue sky day in Brisbane today by getting a shot of Queensland's Government House - the home of the Governor. Drove in through the gates but was then stopped and told I could go no further and would have to take my shots from where I was. I expected it to be very quiet but there seemed to be an awful lot of activity going on. Never mind, did the best I could from where I was and went home. Then listening to the news a couple of hours later I heard that the new Governor had just been sworn in. It was only when I downloaded the pics that I noticed all the chairs and the canopy being set up ready for the ceremony. ha ha ha.
Could predict what was going to happen as soon as I began to read. Sorry, but I can hardly type for giggling. Just innocently wandering into the "Big Event". What have liked to have been a fly on the wall as you stammered your "Blue Sky" excuse. Love the shot by the way.
What grand timing, intentional or not! I like @dollycreek 's comment. "Popporazzo"! It's perfect. BTW, the Governor's place looks to have lots of character in its architecture.
@ubobohobo Hi Margaret, just to add to the scene, I was dressed in my normal yard clothes ie daggy and was driving what we call our shopping cart, a 25year old beaten up Toyota Corolla. I think I looked a bit sus as soon as drove in.
So why weren't you invited?? i do like your new title, "Popporazzo!" And yes, I can see the blue sky!! By the way, did you see I had a blue sky on Monday?? Now gone of course, it was to tease me :) PS- good shot!!
Gorgeous building, and I am jealous of the blue skies. We are in the second week of white haze / smoke from forest fires over 1,000 miles away, but the smoke is riding the jet stream down to us.
