King Parrot - Cock

It's always special when the King Parrots call in for a snack as they did this afternoon. The trick is to stop the Rainbow Lorikeets from chasing them off so they can get a feed and that is easier said than done. Today we quickly got them their own seed plate while we kept the lorikeets busy with apple.
Anyway, this is the male and I think he is magnificent.

I love king parrots, we had one visit us a few years back but then someone caught it and it is now in captivity : ( A lovely capture and glad to hear the lorikeets were outsmarted :)
