The Breakfast Creek Hotel is arguably the most famous watering hole in Queensland and one of the most iconic in Australia. Usually referred to as the Brekky Creek, it is famous for its steaks and "beer off the wood" ie, beer served from wooden kegs.
As a young lad, I used to live a short walk from it which was very dangerous. We frequented it much too regularly. :-)
For O/S 365ers, XXXX is the name of Queensland's most popular beer. Mexicans reckon that we called it that because we couldn't spell "beer"
Wow, what a building! I'd hang out here just for how remarkable the structure looks. Your commentary got a hardy laugh for your admission of too-frequent visits in your youth and the explanation on the name.
You were wondering about a frog in my Halloween picture. I'm wondering about it too as there's only a rat in the photo. I'm not seeing the frog. I can tell you what the rodent's doing — looking for something to destroy. They're good at this time of year, the real ones anyway.
Lovely composition framed by the two lighting poles, great depth of field and colour, the XXXX sign may be a little over the top, suspect it can be seen for miles, lol;)

I haven't been to this one although I've heard of it. Looks like there are plenty of people enjoying some time there.
