Alcantarea Extensa by terryliv

Alcantarea Extensa

The flower stem on the bromeliad, Alcantarea Extensa. Don't bother to comment, just keeping up the numbers.
Despite your request about not commenting, I'm going to anyway. This plant is huge! You'll have to have a ladder to stand on or a telephoto lens to get an up-close shot of those blooms at the top. And hey, is that Poinciana in the background the one I'm hoping to see a 'Too in??

I will need to learn how to spell anew if I ever move down under. Your plants and birds have names that look and sound different for this Yankee.

@lyndemc Its the POV Denise. It is about 150cm (5ft) to the top of the flower stem. The last Alcantarea that flowered had really interesting flowers. I am hoping this one is the same.
