Certainly is the night for snakes. They're out and about. Had a huge carpet eyeing off a big turkey gobbler two nights ago and last night he thought he'd try a hen. I caught him in the act both times and gave him a bit of encouragement to leave the chook house but not before he hadmelockedinthehouse because he had himself dangling across the doorway. Fun and games on the farm!
Is it poisonous? Looks a really nice snake but would be scared if it had a venomous bite. You must be used to these where you live. We don't really have much here that's harmful. The worst I can think of is a herd of cows with the intent to trample and kill dog walkers! That was a most scary incident. I'm now scared of crossing fields with cows in them. Snakes are the least of my worries. We just have small grass snakes! Great close up btw.
@shepherdmanswife No, not poisonous Chantal. He is a constrictor. He will still bit you though but in the same way a dog bites you - minus the teeth of course.
WE live just 7 kms from the city so we don't see snakes that often although they are around. Every so often you will hear of one of the neighbours yappers suddenly disappearing. Ha Ha Ha
