We had our daughter and her three boys from London out with us for a couple of weeks over Easter and this shot was taken as they were leaving Brisbane for the 27hour flight back.
The Qantas attendant at check in had a sense of humour (a rare commodity at airports these days) and wrote out a baggage tag and stuck it on 2yo Eoin's wrist and then slapped a "Fragile" sticker on his back. It was very interesting watching other people's faces as Eoin wandered around the terminal.
Posted for the song challenge.
I am sure everyone knows this song written by John Denver and initially made popular by Peter Paul and Mary. Both JD and PP&M are two of my all time favourite artists and I don't know whose version I like the best. here are links to both versions if you want to sing along https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFEhzS0hYco https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWePk3XTljQ&list=RDKWePk3XTljQ#t=22
Interestingly I saw JD in his 1977 tour of Oz (one of 3 times we went to see him) and also saw PP&M sing this song at one of their concerts we went to (can't find the program for this one).
Very cute - nice to know some airline people still have a sense of humor. Oddly enough I had just used those very lyrics in a facebook post today as I had packed the bags on my bike in preparation for a lengthy trip - happily NOT on a jet plane.
Terrific capture and wonderful sense of humour :) So where are all the photos of the family? I wanted to use that song too as I'm leaving on a jet plane tomorrow - but i had no photo to go with it! And I'll go with John Denver's version just, as I too was a big fan :)
A long flight for kids or adults for that matter.Nice to see staff that know how to entertain the kids.John Denver for me although i do like Peter,Paul & Mary.I have JD,s LP of all his favourite hits from the 70,s.
Simply lovely capture Terry, wonderful narrative and very fitting for the song title, what a great song it is I still know all the words, it always comes into my head at airports, lol:)
