Garden Orb Weaver - Topside

The topside of the Garden Orb Weaver spider. They are very common around Brisbane gardens. They build their web each night and then go into hiding during the day.

I did a face plant into this fellows web a couple of nights ago while out looking for cane toads. Having a spider on your nose certainly gets your attention in a hurry.
And the web is so sticky. It's a decent size spider

Another great image of the Orb Weaver with lovely colour and fine detail, did you get bitten Terry? I understand they are not dangerous but a bit a can be very painful and last a few hours:)

Ha ha, loved your comment. Don't you hate it when you walk into one of these blighters in the dark. Their webs really crackle as they attach to your face. Did you do the Indian rain dance trying to get the spider and web off you.

@onewing No Babs. The only thing to do is hold your nerve and back straight out of the web

I like spiders, but I hate walking into their webs. A spider on the nose would be a bit freaky :)
