4 Different Wedgies - 4 Unsuccessful Attempts -

Day 19 - Diamantina Development Rd, NWQ

If you think I was obsessed with the Wedge Tailed Eagles, you would not be far off the mark.

The top two shots show the best way of identifying them.
Top left shows the characteristic beautiful wedge shaped tail. Top right, shows his trousers. I think he is the only(?) bird that has feathers all the way down his legs to his feet.

In going through all the shots, one of the things I have noticed is that when they are aware of your presence, they always land facing away from you and then turn around to look. Obviously this is so that when they take off, they are automatically heading away from you. The result is that I have lots of shots of their rear end.

These are wonderful. That wedged tail is fantastic. Those trousers are interesting. Great shots and hopefully you'll get a few opportunities where they're unaware of your presence.
