Flushed with success from the adventure with the rosella, I went out the back yard with the SX50 and tried my hand at shooting the Blue Faced Honeyeaters that were jostling for a feed of the wet honey mix with the Rainbow Lorikeets.
Once again, the SX 50 did the job and I ended up with the best shot of a BFH that I have managed. I think that the bromeliad (Alcantarea Silver Plum) provided a great background.
Anybody want to buy a Canon 80D? Going cheap.
This posting is dedicated to MBrutus who is always banging on about how wonderful the birds are in his neck of the woods of Los Angeles.
He goes tramping through the country for months on end armed with his 1000mm bird bazooka and ends up with a shot of a grey bird of indeterminate lineage. Move to Oz MBrutus and these come into your garden just begging to be photographed.
I just read the review on your SX50. It looks pretty good and with the photo's that you've posted, I'm quite impressed with how sharp it is. It also has a pretty impressive zoom, you could startup a Private Investigator job:)
....and yes, an extended visit to Oz would definitely increase the variety of birds I could go after....it'll have to wait until I retire in a couple of years.
