Why 53.5 and not 53 or Even 55?

Day 23 - Cloncurry to Barcaldine

After a constant stream of encountering road trains and oversize vehicles on the road on the previous day and then this day, this sign suddenly cropped up in case you hadn't noticed them. LOL

The 53.5 mtr length limit on the road trains really amuses me.

Does exactly what it says on the tin, a sign you need take notice of, 53.5m is much better than 175' 6", lol:)
