Went to a Bromeliad show today determined just to look. Unfortunately, within 30 seconds, I had given in to temptation. Sigh..... The one on the left in the blue pot is an Aechmea (just in case anyone picks me up>)
I tend to just call them all bromeliads but I do have that Aechmea that you pointed out as well as the one in the yellow pot in the centre (it's flowering now). Love the colourful shot.
@bella_ss@gigiflower Unfortunately, Sam is right Sheralee. There isn't room. They have already taken over the whole garden and are slowly taking over the back patio and side deck :-(.
BTW, that Aechmea is Aechmea Fasciata, the signature plant of the Aechmea species. There are a number of Guzzies that look like the one in the yellow pot. You have probably got "Beau", the most popular/common. This one will be a new release of some sort.
@terryliv@gigiflower I guess our gardens are a little bigger up here in the country but I think David shudders every time he sees me buy a new plant. Thanks for the low down Poppo :)
I completely understand why you couldn't resist. Just look at all that color, those interesting patterns and shapes! Gorgeous wall-to-wall beauty in this photo. And in your yard too. :)
