Coober Pedy Moonscape
The area surrounding Coober Pedy is covered in these characteristic mounds which are the made when shafts are drilled in the search for the veins of opal. Larger mounds indicate the presence of a mine.

No Pam. As far as underground mining goes, it was relatively safe. The sandstone they were drilling into is very stable.
