Blue Tongue Lizard by terryliv

Blue Tongue Lizard

In keeping with todays reptile theme, I thought I would add a shot of our blue tongue lizard getting stuck into a piece of watermelon from 3 years back. Haven't seen him around for a while now so I hope he is OK
Nice shot. We had a blue tongue lizard which was born in our garden on New Years Day 2000 and initially we called him Sid because he could be a bit vicious, but then we discovered that it was female and she took up residence in our wood shed each winter. She became quite tame and visited each year and dropped babies on us, but sadly this year she hasn't appeared. I believe they live a long time, but maybe she had a fight with a car.

Great shot....we had blue tongue lizards..but our Staffie keeps killing them...only twice once in our backyard and another time at a caravan park.

Sam
When I used to live in Sydney we had a couple of them that used to sun themselves on our back path. Whilst they looked a bit scary, they actually became quite tame - we tamed them but I think they tamed us more! Beautiful creatures and a beautiful shot of him :)

He looks pretty happy with the melon. They are lovely creatures we have them living in our sandstone retaining wall. They are supposed to deter brown snakes but that is a myth as they frequent our place unfortunately :-)

The unique wildlife abounds at your place of residence. I'm tickled you're sharing these photos as well. I hope this fine fellow is okay since you've not seen him in awhile.
