Renovator's Delight

While we are on the topic of old stuff, I thought I would include some photos of my wife's castle in Ireland. She is actually an aristocrat of the Drew family and by rights this should be her castle. We are going to launch an invasion to reclaim her birthright. Doesn't she just look like the Lady of the Manor?
McCollop Castle in Co Waterford Ireland was built in the 13th century. I don't know when it fell down but we plan to rebuild.
PS She really is descendent of the Drews of McCollop. We found the crypts of her GGGGG Grandfather and GGGG Grandfather in the McCollop Church burial grounds (they had their own church).
That is fantastic that you found graveside of ancestors and visited this location. What a fun collage. The castle is just WOW!

That's fabulous! But, I'm thinking that would be a little drafty in the winter time! LOL!

With a few coats of paint and some elbow grease it should come up ok.

Very cool story! Nothing like a little fixer-upper. Sweat equity is underrated. I've got an old futon I'm willing to donate!

Wow, that would be a huge project, but to think that the remains can become a part of the living again, quite fascinating

A real fixer-upper. Tell her to get right to work. Great spot beautifully captured.
