At the till is a board with little tokens that have tea, coffee, cake or £5 written on them. Take a token and pass it over at the till, if you need to.
Didn't see this until leaving, will donate a token next time ( there WILL be a next time!!)
A kind gesture. We had a restaurant that had the entry wall painted in blackboard paint and one could leave stickie notes with a cup of coffee or whatever on it. They collected jackets in the wintertime too.

What a nice idea! This strikes me as the type of thing the small cafe in Minneapolis where Frank worked for 27 years might have done. Community owned and worker managed.
