Okra bloom by thewatersphotos

Okra bloom

Another photo from my visit to the garden (filling in after being away for the weekend). This is an okra bloom. They are always so pretty and dainty to produce such an unusual fruit.
Ok Gary, I have a love hate relationship with okra! As the youngest it was always my job to go into the garden and pick the okra...it makes you itch...a lot! Okra always thrived in our garden long after all the other veggies, so we ate a lot of it. Boiled okra, pickled okra, okra gumbo, okra and tomatoes...but I still love it fried. Lol.

The okra touched a chord! This is an awful joke, but i can't resist.
What's the difference between okra and boogers?

you can't get a kid to eat okra.
I know...I'm done now.

Well I enjoyed Allie's commentary about Okra, it made me laugh so hard 😂 Pretty pic though, but now I look at Okra differently 😊

I have to confess I've never eaten Okra! However, I love this photo. The gentle greens are set off beautifully by the dark red of the stems, and the petals are so lovely

@texastrails I appreciate all your comments (and joke) about my okra bloom. I have always thought they were such a pretty flower and I LOVE fried okra, not so found of boiled or pickled (just can't get past the texture!) You did make several folks smile with your joke..a great one!
