With temperatures in the high 70s F, things have begun to bloom with vigor! This is an ornamental pear tree, so while the blooms are pretty, there will be no fruit!

A lovely close up of these blooms. Are these Bradford pears? Apparently there is a reward (native trees) for cutting them down and turning them in in Greensboro (I believe). Folks interested in native plants really don't like BPs.
@randystreat Thanks, Kathy! No, I don't think they are. I think it was a grafted tree, but the graft died and now the root has taken over, so I'm not sure what it really is. It is the only one like it and was a gift. It makes pretty blooms, but not much else.
