The other day I noticed the oak trees in my subdivision were beginning to bud, so it was another trip back out to Tappahannock for the Missus and I to visit our friend, the Tappahannock Oak.
It didn't disappoint - it never does...how could it? It was budding and the buds were visible from the divided highway's conveniently placed turn around. And the day was perfect.
One thing that has changed since TO VII is a "Do Not Enter" sign has been put up just beyond the bend. It's just under the yellow reduced speed limit warning sign (which is in shade in this shot).
@dutchothotmailcom It is truly beautiful, but I'm not any closer, physically or with zoom. I stand at the same spot and frame it (almost) the same way each time. I straddle a crack in the pavement so I'm in the same spot. There's an arc near the top of my viewfinder that the top of the tree fits perfectly in so I make sure that's aligned, and then the evergreen tree on the right is between 1/2 and 3/4 in the frame.
