I was watching the birds flocking into Tim's Diner today during a lull in the winter gale-force winds we've been experiencing. There were at least a dozen chipping sparrows hopping through the grass. They're so small and well-camouflaged that I could only see them as they hopped along, looking for seeds blown out of the feeders. Chipping sparrows are one of my favorite birds, so I am delighted to be able to feed a small horde of them!
