K is for Koala

K is for Koala but I have no Koala to share just evidence of his coming and going. Now the mating season has finished he has become silent and is very hard to find. We've been searching for the past two days but can only find the scratch marks on the trees that indicate he's moving around freely at night. Koalas are very selective feeders and my koala study is finding that this one only feeds on river blue gums. Thank goodness there are plenty along the road corridor he is calling home. Top right, bottom left are his urine trails which are another indicator but sorry no koala. For new viewers to my project my koala story begins here: http://365project.org/ubobohobo/365/2014-02-10
What a great continuation of the story. Thank you for the link to your photo of the koala. Probably better for the little critter that he stay hidden, but the evidence of its presence is compelling on its own.

I feel that way about a lot of the birds here. I can hear them singing in the canopy but I never see them. But at least we know they're there!

Loved seeing this - innovative when the Koala is "away". I am rather challenged with patterns and textures for May, so found this very interesting from that point of view
