Art or Vandalism?

I got stuck at a train crossing today (which is not unusual as I live only a few blocks from one). I am always struck with the graffiti on the sides of the carriages, some of it is plain graffiti often with questionable language, but a lot of it I like, for me it is a form of art, though I am sure that there are many who will disagree.

Maybe both - art to the observer, probably vandalism to the owner of the containers. Either way, great shots!

I think it's art when it's done on a designated area, otherwise it's vandalism. Either way, it looks awesome display of mad skills. =)

I agree but depending on where it is executed. Whatever the medium, I suppose there will always be good art and bad. Some graffiti may be posing as art! Great shot and very thought provoking :)

I agree...though I don't know if the owners agree. It is much more interesting then a dull boring plain color train going by. I think they are very creative and you have captured them so well!

Oh, I think it is definitely a form of art. I have done airbrushing, and it isn't easy to get something that original and appealing. I have seen these cars on trains, and have wanted to capture them, too. A great idea, and a great capture of them!

Great idea for a collage, and great colours. It's fascinating to watch graffiti artists at work, there are lots here in Berlin who can be seen painting the walls in parks.
