For anyone who is interested in US architecture the name Frank Lloyd Wright probably means something. I live less than two miles from his home and studio. I had intended to post some pictures of it today, but I could not seem to do it justice. To be honest from the outside it is not that impressive, and rather hidden, I have toured inside a number of times and it is well worth a visit, quite different from the outside, but they do not allow you to take photos inside. Today I realized that it is the small details that stand out, this is one of two similar statues that are on either side of the main entrance to the house.
Edit: I have now found out that you can take pictures inside if you buy an optional photo pass.
Great shot and find of the detail. I find that's where I struggle in finding the details that make scenes that show what I want. Love this though and I can only imagine that would be an awesome museum to go to!
@ladygator Thanks Nancy. It is a great place to visit, but from the outside I have yet to figure out how to really capture it, but I spent some time looking around the outside and will go back to try and capture some of the more subtle details. There are a number of other Frank Lloyd Wright buildings in and around Chicago, so expect to see more of them in the coming months :)
@graemestevens Thanks Graeme, always appreciated! @kt8ird Thanks Kate, I live on the edge of the city, so I spend most days lurking in my alley and neighborhood, and then the other days trying to figure out what of the 100 shots I have taken to post when I have ventured outside my little zone . Feast or famine...lol!

Great capture of this. Spider webs and all! My daughter lived in Oak Park for awhile, and we visited the studio and home, and took a walking tour. Very interesting day.
