But not for long! This is one of ten harbors in the city of Chicago, in the winter boats are moved inland to dry docks, and then starting in April when the bridge lifts begin owners start to move their boats back to these harbors for a summer of fun!
A quick snap, as I was with my husband and though he had lots of patience the first year I was here on 365, now that I am nearly at the end of my second year when we are out together I take very few pictures. That said these reflections were begging to captured!
@tracys a bit of both! The first year here I took and posted a new shot every day, this year I am not so strict with myself, so if we are out together photography takes a back seat, unless we are going somewhere that we are not likely to go back to.
@ukandie1
I know I have commented but it's a great shot.
Also, all being well I will be over in the US covering this year's Ryder Cup at Hazeltine near Minneapolis. I am considering coming out early, with the view to stopping at Chicago (where our London flight lands before connecting to Minneapolis) for a couple of days and nights. I was thinking a quick photo meet with you and @taffy might be possible?
I would love to get some big skyline shots of the city, particularly at sunset/blue hour, including some good old light trails, as well as some tips for places to eat and visit etc.
What do you think?
Andie and Steve @stevecameras I just posted a response on my foggy river poster. Hoping it works out but it only works for me after the Cup. Fingers crossed that it will work for both of you to meet in October afterward rather than before.
Steve and @taffy I am supposed to be heading off to California for a week in September. I am waiting on the exact dates , but I think the date will be early to mid Sept. So at this point of time I should be about before and after the Ryder Cup. Hopefully either Taffy or I will be in town, and even if we are not, it is such a great place for a photographer we can give you plenty of tips, that said I am pretty sure I should be about.
