Every October Chicago holds an architectural open house, it is easy to be sucked in by the big venues, those with a killer views, I do enjoy those sites, but each year I try and seak out a few interesting neighborhood sites. This year I found myself in the far North side of the city in a neighborhood known as Ravenswood, this shot was taken at Colvin House, a house that has been designated a Chicago Landmark and in February of this year has been bought by a group who wants to return the property to its original beauty. I look forward to viewing their progress.
VML this and its story. Am much encouraged by restoration of historic and/or buildings of note etc. Only by valuing the past can we make sense of the here and now, use pooled resources for restoration etc. and bring beautiful places and things to all.
