thanks @taffy I bought a new lens and whilst I had more misses than hits I had some shots that I really liked. I took notes about how I could improve and am looking forward to next year and hopefully getting the shots I really want!
@taffy it is 50-140mm constant F2.8mm on a crop sensor, but I used a 2Xteleconvertor with it, so equivalent to 152-427mm on a full frame sensor, but you also lose a couple of stops of light with the teleconvertor. Though I might not use it often I liked the idea of having a longer lens for the Zoo and close up abstract architecture. I meant to loan a different longer lens for the air and water show, but left to too late and thought what the heck why not buy something instead!
