Another shot from my meet up with @taffy yesterday. It ended up being one of my favorites! it also gave me inspiration for an idea of an ongoing project. This was taken at the boat house at North Avenue Beach. In the summer it is a thriving hub for locals and suburbanites who want to make the most of the warmer months, but in the winter it has a stark beauty. I think this would be a project best done in color, but for now I am sticking within my comfort zone of b&w!
This came out great -- just the right elements of the little one in the snowsuit, the bike looking a big loanly, and the shadows giving it such a wintry look.
I enjoy the little guy, the starkness of the wintery lakefront and the locked up bike. The idea that anyone would ride a bike in that weather is amazing.
