Another street shot taken from an architectural boat tour that I took with @taffy!
These igloos otherwise known as domes are at the City Winery along the river front. Apparently they come equipped with a bluetooth speaker, a heater, and comfortable furniture and are available in the fall and spring for a minimum of $85 per person. I find them fun to look at, and love how Chicago adapts to the unpredictable weather. In the summer boats pull up at the dockside to quench their thirst, and obviously the igloos are gone.
@taffy apparently I am in need of getting out and doing some street photography, I look at buildings and think nice, but am more interested in the people shots :) That said, there will be architecture coming up eventually!
Wow, wow, wow! How did you get this so perfectly framed from a moving boat??? It's fantastic with the layers, the focal domes, and all the details beyond. Very cool shot and instant fav.
thanks @taffy ...I wish I could say it was my superior talent, but in reality it was luck, don't look too closely because the people are all in rather soft focus. That said I loved how it captured how Chicago deals with the weather and what an amazing space the riverfront has become in such a short time!
This is wonderful, love people shots and this is a beauty. Great composition and gives a real feel for the place. Love those domes, how long does $85 by you? Sounds expensive.
