So I am breaking the rules today, cause I took this photo 10 years ago with my camera. Today I tried new post-processing.
The last couple of years I had less and less time for taking photos with my DSLR, let alone processing. It was a very hard decision to sell my camera last year, but I thought there was no point in having one standing in the closet. Then I bought a mobile with one of the best cameras and I was really happy, because I could take a shot, edit it on the go and share it. I am even finding all the positives of it doing this project, cause sometimes I am uploading a photo or posting comments while at work :) But to be completely honest, I really started missing my camera. I have had a DSLR for ten years and I've had many different lenses. I remember grabbing my macro lens with such a pleasure when I had no idea for a daily photo in my 2012 project. The 50 mm was also one of my favorites...
So I am starting to think I made a mistake selling all my photography equipment, but then I start wondering what if I hadn't done it, would i take the time to carry it around, shoot with it, then transfer the images and then edit them? It is definitely time-consuming and I feel my daily routine like a carousel. It is so much easier with the mobile camera, but not the same...
I was wondering if someone had similar thoughts or have been in this situation?
Not quite the same, as I've never really progressed to fully exploiting my DSLR with different lenses and post processing. But I find I almost universally use my phone as it's so handy and portable, and takes relatively good photos. I just can't be bothered to lug the DSLR around. I keep resolving to take it out, but rarely do...
I have broken the rules this week too! But this is our 365 so we can do it our way sometimes. I have a camera without a decent lens at the moment so my stuff is from my phone too. I do crave for my DSLR sometimes.
Beautiful shot, the gull seems to be contemplating it's next move. I only have a real camera since about two years and would not want to swop it for anything ;-)
Lovely shot. I changed the Canon to Olympus, especially because of the weight of the equipment. It was a good decision, but the Canon is laing in a drawer.
I like the convenience of the phone on occasion but I really prefer the results using my dslr especially the advantages of changing lenses to fit the shot. It's true that phone cameras can take pretty amazing shots, though. Love the gull shot, he looks sad. Nice composition.
