Charlevoix

Today was a lighthouse bust. We had five on the itinerary to visit and only saw one! We searched for what seemed like forever for the Little Traverse Point and Harbor Point Lighthouses only to find out they were one and the same, on private property, way out on the peninsula and not visible without a boat. Frustrated, we shopped instead which is always a good alternative for disappointment. Keeping with vacation tradition, we each bought a pair of shoes at the local outfitters store.

We did see some beautiful things we never would have seen had we not been looking for the lighthouses so the day was still super fun. An entire neighborhood of Victorian homes in Bay View, a neighborhood of Mushroom Houses (they look like Hobbits would live there) in Charlevoix and sat next to a young girl at lunch at the Roast & Toast in Petoskey who was going to school at UC's DAAP (University of Cincinnati's Design, Art, Architecture and Planning). It's a small world.

The lighthouse we did find was different than others we'd seen. It was painted bright red and made of metal sitting on a pier that jutted out into the lake. It's a beauty and made for some great pics.

Cool processing and a great pop of red. The houses you discovered sounded interesting indeed. :)

@stevepam @gardenfolk Thanks! I can't remember all I did to this photo now but I did pump up the color for sure. The sand was almost white. Very washed out.
