The Jubilee Pillars at 800 feet above sea level were erected at the start of the circular walk around Foel Lus to commemorate the Jubilee of Queen Vicotoria in1887. The Jubilee walk was opened in 1888. The walk affords excellent views out to sea. It cost was £50, for construction and £5 for the pillars.
@virtualbrownie thanks V. The Pillars are partway up the mountain above Penmaenmawr and Dwygyfylchi. There is also a Druid Stone circle, (Although I have not walked that far).
It always touches me to see the history of places like this. To imagine the people building it, the opening ceremony for it, all the people who have walked through there. I am in awe.....fav It is also just a gorgeous vi ew
Fav of course!
