Purple for Polio......

As I walked through the Village today it was festooned with Purple Ribbons. In readiness for World Polio Day 24th October 2019. Rotary International's Campaign to eradicate polio worldwide.

Why purple - in Third world countries when a person receives immunization their index finger is dipped in a purple dye - so as not to receive two doses accidentally.
Nicely capturd and a good reminder of this dreadful disease

It’s amazing the ‘accounting systems ‘ people come up with, when motivated by necessity.

Interesting facts. It's a shame there are people who still get this disease. I know I had injections when I was a child and got oral immunizations several times growing up.
