Official Top 20 Chart - Week 226

Hey Ross think you need to check your formula for top twenty because it is seriously out of whack this week - not that they aren't all wonderful images but It is making me question the validity of the TT- check the numbers for 16 - 20 to start with - maybe there is a glitch

@annied Annie, I imagine it has to do with the cut off for the favs. Chantal's pic was probably posted right at the end of the count. I would think if it is possible for the same pic to appear in two weeks then her photo will also be in the upcoming TT because most of the favs would have been given this week. The count starts on Wednesday (I remember correctly).

Beautiful shots and congrats to all. There is so much amazing talent on 365 I wish I could follow everyone but there is just not enough hours in the day!!

@bella_ss I don't think it has but even so it is wrong - I look at the TT every week in case I have missed photos of people I follow and to congratulate those I do who have made it here - but from now on I am just going to say great photo without the TT congrats because I do not think it is accurate for the 1200 -1500 people who are active on the site - I have a real issue with things not being fair and accurate so the TT for me is a non event from now on

@annied Just checked Chantal's photo and it was posted on Wednesday so she must have only received 30 to 40 favs in last week's count which leaves 80 or so for the upcoming week and should be in the top few (let's see what happens) ;-)

@bella_ss that may be but the count shouldn't go from Wednesday to Wednesday anyway it should go from like Wednesday to Tuesday because Wednesday posts are then at a disadvantage - you can't tell me that out of 1200 odd active members the same half dozen end up on here every week and often twice with a couple of other new people - not that they don't have wonderful photos I follow them all and their photos are awesome - but there must be others out there who get many favs too
it is my issue anyway - I do not believe the formula for working it out is a reasonable reflection of TT - maybe it should be called something else - I have been watching it for a while and it has annoyed me for a while - this week is the straw that ends my interest in it

@annied just read my previous post saying "I remember correctly", lol, sorry, it should have said "if I remember correctly".

It would be great if everyone had a chance of being on the Top Twenty... meaning the photos actually get chosen and not simply "popular" photos that appear. Like you, I also think the photos are wonderful and have been totally chuffed when my own have appeared but there are so many amazing photographers on this site that won't ever have a chance of being on here simply because they don't have a lot of followers. I understand what you are saying :)

@bella_ss members with many followers do seem to have an advantage but I have been pleased to see some that don't appear on here too - I don't have a problem with members with lots of follows being here - there is a reason people follow them so that is all cool - it is the program that is used to select them that I think is faulty - I have thought it crap for a while and a couple of things on this weeks list have confirmed that for me - I think the same of the popular page and only go there to make sure I haven't missed any of my friends photos or one that I would be interested in faving

@annied You know what else is strange... I'm not receiving notifications of your messages in this thread, I've only seen them because I have come back here... weird!

I take the TT with a grain of salt. I see what I think are some crappy pics make the TT but I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What I think is crap someone else sees a master piece. lol Its all good..... Oh by the way great pics everyone. ;-)

@annied @bella_ss thanks for the feedback guys, you're right that the theme runs from Wednesday for the previous week, (so Weds to Tue) and photos can appear in multiple weeks, I know it's a little confusing but it is totally fair, it's the simplest formula on the whole website... just the number of favourites acquired in the time frame... you can read more here... http://365project.org/blog/behind-the-scenes-of-365-project
As for the "fairness" of people having more followers being at an advantage... yes they absolutely are at an advantage... which is precisely why pages like the "New faces" and the Popular page exist, these work by counteracting any advantages well followed people may have (which you can also read about on the above blog post)
As always, would be great to get your feedback on how I could improve this to better suit your needs.
