The b&w light and shadows fortnight has come to an end and the new one starts today (see below). At the time of writing, we have 143 posts with this tag. That's an incredible contribution, so thanks to everyone who posted.
I thought that I would combine the new b&w theme with a 'favourite fav’ thread.
Your favourite fav from the light and shadows fortnight
So, why not find your favourite B&W light and shadows shot posted for this challenge (tagged bw-fn2016-1) and share it in this thread. It will be fantastic to see what everyone has fav'd over the two weeks.
New theme
I was looking at the topics for the 52 week challenge and thought it might be an idea to coincide with them sometimes as our theme runs for two weeks. The next 52 week theme is urban or city scapes. So lets go with urbanscapes as our next b&w theme. The description from the 52 week project is: most landscapes are wide open spaces of natural beauty. The challenge is to find beauty in the urbanscape/cityscape. Use the b&w to accentuate the lines, shapes and patterns in the urban landscape. You can take photos in this timescale or use old ones.
If you want to post your photo for the 52 week challenge as well, you can see the thread and tags here: 52 week challenge
The tag is bw-fn2016-2
The fortnight will run Sunday 17th April - Saturday 30th April
The next theme will be posted on Sunday 1st May.
You can see the photos for the challenge here: bw-fn2016-2
I have tagged people who have asked to be tagged and who have posted photos for the last fortnight. Please let me know if you want to be added to the tag list.
@dibzgreasley Love these photos so far. Newbie question: I am under the impression that I may only load a photo a day. Can you upload other photos for this challenge, or do I only work on the black and white for the next 2 weeks and those become my photo for the day. Okay either way, just wondering. I've been doing the 52 week challenge and its been fun.
@stefneyhart You can have multiple albums, so you may add more than one photo per day by adding them to different albums. Some people choose to designate an album to themes/competitions, but it is entirely up to you how you do it.
@stefneyhart
Hi Stef
Yes as an Ace member you have two albums in your first year. You can use one for your challenges if you want.
Go the Account tab (on the blue menu bar)
Choose Account Settings
Choose the Albums option
From here you can set up another album
@mazaz
Hi
Go to the photo you want to post.
Under the title and narrative box, where you click the star to fav, there are three dots ...
Click on those
Copy the embed code (CTRL C Windows/CMD C Mac)
Come back to this thread and paste the code (CTRL V Windows/CMD V Mac)
Does that help?
Hi Deb!
I have a question...
May I take part to the 2nd b&w fortnight even if I didn't participate to the first?Thank you for these precious occasions for putting ourselves into play!
@frappa77
Hi Francesca
Of course! These b&w fortnights are just themes and guidelines for people who want to take more b&w shots. There are no finalists, voting or anything like that. So feel free to participate as much or as little as you wish. Welcome aboard!
